OHA Edmonton (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) Female U18 Prep
Elena Abad Chisholm recorded her first of the season to put OHA Edmonton ahead by one through twenty. Tea Getzinger (1G, 2A) would also rifle home her first of the year to double OHA Edmonton鈥檚 advantage. Joryn Hempel (1G, 1A) continued her hot-streak, scoring a mere 22-seconds later. Teams would trade goals once more before the ice clean. Come the third, Pilot Mound was able to sneak two on the board, making things 4-3 thanks to the efforts of Sheigh Siemens (1G, 1A) and Jayden Quinn. However, Riley Cooper (1G, 1A) would capitalise on a 2-on-1 with Hempel to put this game to rest, wrapping up a perfect weekend for OHA Edmonton.听
Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) vs Shawnigan Lake School (4) Female U18 Prep
Eden Hamel (2G) got the game started in the first for Shawnigan Lake, giving them the lead through the first. OHA would strike back with two of their own in the middle frame but a late goal from Leah Hill kept the score in balance en route for the third. Hamel would notch her second of the game to give Shawnigan the go ahead lead while Zoe Cramer ensured the victory with a late empty net tally. Alix Walchuk (25/27) made 25-saves and shut down a penalty shot in the victory.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (2) vs St. Mary’s Academy (1) Female U18 Prep
Brynn Evans opened the scoring for NAX with a wicked wrister, extending her goal streak to six games. Payton Henwood would respond later in the frame for St. Mary鈥檚, making a tight move into the middle before firing one top shelf. Things would remain tied until the second where Mayson Mattersdorfer would regain possession at St. Mary鈥檚 blueline before rifling one home to restore NAX鈥檚 lead. Aldawna Evers (26/27) would remain perfect from there on out, making 26-saves to back NAX to victory.
Mount Academy (1) vs Lower Canada College (12) East U17
Lower Canada College鈥檚 special teams went to work over Mount Academy, picking up six powerplay goals and two shorthanded tallies in a commanding 12-1 win. Only two skaters missed out on the scoresheet for LCC. Lukas Royko (3G, 1A) and Nicolas Dermer (3G, 1A) led the charge with a hat-trick and four points each.
North Shore Warriors (5) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (6/OT) U15
Right off an offensive zone draw, Jared Ryan made a quick move to the middle before ripping one through to give NAX the early lead. However, North Shore would come back later in the frame with vengeance, scoring twice in under two minutes to give them the lead through one. The Warriors would continue to build on this lead as Rex Norman (1G, 1A) and Nicholas Sheldon (1G, 2A) found the back of the net. Emmett Abel (2G, 1A) would get one back with his patented breakaway move, but Warriors forward Knox Leeson (1G, 1A) would get one right back for NSW. Down by three in the third, NAX put it all on the line to end this showcase on a high note. Keatyn Devlin (2G) and Jett Evans (1G, 2A) would bring things to within one with little time remaining. With the goalie pulled and only 13-seconds on the clock, Devlin would steer home a loose puck in front to force overtime in heroic fashion. In the extra frame, Zayden MacLean (15/20) came up with a huge save, stoning a NSW breakaway. On the next draw, Abel would cram home a rebound in front, completing NAX鈥檚 comeback and sending the Xtreme home with smiles on their faces.
Kuper Academy (4) vs Bishop’s College School (2) East U17
An early tally from Gianfranco Capparelli got Kuper Academy the early lead. Come the second, another early goal, courtesy of Dimitri Tsimberis, extended Kuper鈥檚 lead. It wasn鈥檛 until the third where Bishop鈥檚 would find their offensive touch, quickly tying things up in the opening half of the frame. However, with little time to spare, Matthew Mott flipped the script, scoring his first of the season with 2:10 left on the clock to restore Kuper鈥檚 lead. Matteo Sollazzo (1G, 1A) would soon after add the insurance marker, capping off an important victory for the Kodiaks.
STAR Hockey Academy (2) vs Edge School (3/OT) U15
Brody Antignani and Seve Paladino split the scoring in the first between Edge School and STAR. Come the second, Mason Olson would sneak one bottom left to give STAR the lead. However, a response from Luke Bodtker (2G, 1A) later in the frame knotted everything back up at 2-2. No game deciding goals were found in the third, but one was found 20-seconds into OT. Bodtker would make haste down the right wing before blasting one top shelf to ensure the win for Edge School.
Notre Dame (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (10) U15 Prep
Easton Pitz (1G, 5A) and Athens Shingoose (1G, 5A) each collected six points each in a double digit win for RHA Winnipeg. Brady Filmon (2G, 2A) also collected a pair of goals and assists en route to victory. RHA Winnipeg鈥檚 special teams delivered five goals on the powerplay.
CIH Academy (1) vs Stanstead College (4) East U17
Luca Chiarizia got the blood pumping for CIH Academy, early scoring under two minutes in. However, Stanstead would outshoot CIH 20-6 in the frame. Alex Beaupre (50/53) steered each of those shots aside but was on pace to see a lot more. Liam Armit (1G, 1A) broke the seal halfway through the second, getting Stanstead on the board. Alexis Lavoie (1G, 1A) potted another just before the end of the frame. Stanstead would score another two in the third. Beaupre ended with an impressive 50-saves while Jonas Murrer (19/20) picked up the win, making 19-saves.
Indigenous Sports Academy (3) vs Edge School (12) U17 Prep
Finn Howes (4G, 3A) was the key contributor in a landslide victory for Edge School, racking up four goals and seven points. Ashton McCann (1G, 3A) and Liam Lacey (1G, 3A) each contributed three helpers on the afternoon while Kurtis Stajkowski (12/15) picked up the win in goal.
Notre Dame (0) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (9) U18 Prep
Mattias Radke (19/19) provided 19-saves in part of a commanding 9-0 win over Notre Dame. On the offensive front, Cash Olson (2G, 2A) and Brayden Ryan-MacKay (2G, 2A) each racked up a pair of goals and assists while Riley Steen and William Scott picked up some goals from the blueline.
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (2) vs BWC Academy (0) U17 Prep
An early powerplay marker from Aidan Yu (2G) got Wenatchee on the board early, but the true heroics in this contest would stem from Keagan Bradshaw (48/48). Bradshaw would go on to stop all 48-shots from BWC Academy, including 16 in the third period. Yu would add an empty netter with a second remaining to further ensure the upset win for the Wenatchee Wild.
RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (6) U17
After swapping goals back-and-forth throughout the opening twenty, Kingston Stefura (1G, 1A) would give NAX the go ahead lead into the second. Nolan Rafferty would get one back for RHA Winnipeg part way through the middle frame, but a second goal from Jacob Collins (3G, 3A) put NAX back in the driver seat. NAX would pot another two in the third wrapping up the win. Collins would go on to finish with a hat-trick and six points, chipping in on each NAX goal scored on Sunday. Kagan Power (4A) also had an impressive showing, dishing out four helpers as well.
St. George’s School (5) vs STAR Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep
St. George鈥檚 came out the gates flying with three unanswered goals to ignite this contest. Byron Chin (1G, 1A) started it all with a strong individual effort while Holden Tuttle (2G, 1A) and Max Bergeron added the next pair. Dylan Kirkpatrick got one before the buzzer for STAR to give them a fighting chance in the second. No scoring would commence in the middle frame, but St. George鈥檚 would pick up where they left off in the third, scoring another two to ensure the victory. Tuttle鈥檚 three points led the scoresheet for the Saints while Carter Adams (31/33) made 31-saves between the pipes.
Delta Hockey Academy (8) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (1) U15 Prep
A pair of goals from defenseman Ryker Doka (2G, 1A) and a four point performance from Kingcome Inlet, BC鈥檚 Conor Nicolson (2G, 2A) propelled Delta Hockey Academy to an impressive road win over RHA Kelowna. Quinn Coupland (23/24) picked up 23-saves in goal for the win. Jack Leslie would score the lone goal for RHA Kelowna.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (0) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep
Okanagan Hockey Academy came out to play in Sunday鈥檚 CSSHL Featured Match, outshooting PCHA 46-20 in a lop-sided 5-0 victory. Luke Assi (1G, 2A) and Trey Tourigny (2G) led the way with a combined five points. Ander Reyes (41/46) made a handful of big saves in the crease for PCHA, but the offence in front of him could not find an answer for Linden Soboban (20/20), who went on to post a shutout in the win for OHA.
Shawnigan Lake School (3) vs Yale Hockey Academy (7) U15 Prep
Shawnigan Lake was looking to take down their Fraser Valley rivals for a second consecutive time this weekend, but Yale was not playing around this time. Shawnigan was able to construct a 2-1 lead late into the first, but a rising point shot from Tryson Edwards tied things up for Yale before the ice clean. Come the second, Tanner Massey shot Yale into the lead with a shorthanded goal. Yale would score another two unanswered to close the frame. Underager Parker McMillan (2G, 1A) added another two goals in the third for good measure as Yale takes the second leg matchup with Shawnigan.
St. George’s School (5) vs OHA Edmonton (4) U15
In a steady back-and-forth affair, OHA Edmonton looked to have the early advantage. Ian Kim (2G) had just put his team back in front after surrendering their one goal lead. However, St. George鈥檚 would keep coming. Bingo Zhao鈥檚 (1G, 1A) point shot would find twine, tying things up at 3-3 before the end of the second. Come the third, Hudson Lesk (3G, 1A) scored on the powerplay to give the Saints their first lead. Part way through the frame, Jaxson Weisgerber (2G) tied things up once again with a shorthanded effort. 29-seconds later, Lesk would score on the same powerplay, restoring St. George鈥檚 lead and eventually going on to become the game winner.
King Heights Academy (2) vs Fort Erie International Academy (3) East U18
Fort Erie would find the game’s first goal with 1:22 left in the first as Mathis Bienvenue scored his fifth goal of the season. Ethan Butler doubled the lead 2:44 into the second, scoring his fifth of the year. DJ Chan got KHA on the board with two seconds left in the second as it was a one goal game heading into the third. Mateo Moro (1G, 1A) restored the two goal lead 3:01 into the third before Chase Thompson brought King Heights back within one. However, Fort Erie would hold on for the final 9:30 to secure the 3-2 win Sunday.听
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (9) U15
CIHA outshot PCHA 69-30 en route to a 9-2 win Sunday. Liam Nycholat (3G) and Luke Van Waes (3G, 1A) each recorded hat-tricks and Tomas Figura (1G, 2A), Brik McCord Cooper and Jase Morey (1G, 2A) scored once while Taylor Green (28/30) recorded 28 saves for CIHA in the win. Liam Hussey and Kaz Westcott scored for Pacific Coast in the loss.听
OHA Edmonton (2) vs Edge School (4) U15 Prep
Kael Scott and Drew Wilkinson traded first period goals before a scoreless second saw the two teams tied heading into the final 20. Charlie Tobin gave Edge their first lead 3:15 in but it was quickly countered by Brayden Tucker鈥檚 14th of the year. Defenseman Remy Koch (1G, 1A) put Edge ahead for good on the power play less than two minutes later. Max Ranseth scored shorthanded to give Edge some breathing room with 6:52 remaining and Delano Pockar (28/30) finished with 28 saves to secure the win. Gavin Steeves (44/48) made 44 saves in the loss.听
STAR Hockey Academy (4) vs North Shore Warriors (2) U15 Prep
STAR would take a 1-0 lead into the second thanks to Ronin Brunner鈥檚 (1G, 1A) eighth of the year with 1:34 left in the first. Sean Murphy tied the game on the power play 2:55 into the second but STAR held a one goal lead going into the third as Levi Ellingsen scored his 20th. The North Shore power play struck again 3:19 into the third to tie the game, this time it being Ethan Mah (1G, 1A). Daniel Makovetskiy (1G, 2A) scored the STAR game winner 2:16 later and Dylan Gale doubled the lead just five seconds after that. Alexander Petukhov (28/30) and Elias Mitrikas (51/55) were in net for their respective teams.听
RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep
Layne Schofield scored his 16th and Graeme Pickering scored on the power play as RHA Winnipeg opened up with a 2-0 lead. Brenden Reeve (1G, 1A) would reply for Pilot Mound 2:06 later but River Arnason (1G, 1A) countered for RHA Winnipeg 58 seconds after that. Carter Haney (1G, 1A) tallied the second RHA Winnipeg power play marker in the second, the lone goal of the period. Pilot Mound would mount a comeback attempt in the third as Michael Tracy and Wolfgang Cook scored inside the first 7:17 of the period to make it a one goal game. However, Dane MacInnis (1G, 1A) scored five minutes later to put the game out of reach and secure the 5-3 win for his team.听
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (2) vs BWC Academy (5) U18 Prep
With one minute left in the first Jonathan Bitonti (1G, 1A) found the back of the net for the 14th time this season to put BWC Academy ahead after 20. Lukas Lima and Kadyn O鈥橞rien scored 2:01 apart midway through the third as BWC Academy held a 3-0 lead. Otaro Inoue would get Wenatchee on the board with 1:48 left in the second and Geon Park brought them within one 1:14 into the third. William Shepard scored his first of the season on the power play 2:22 later and Kai Anderson (1G, 1A) added his eighth of the campaign at the eight minute mark as BWC Academy grabbed the 5-2 lead. Noah Sinagowitz (28/30) stopped the remaining 10 shots he faced in the third to secure the BWC Academy victory.听
North Shore Warriors (3) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (6) U17
Santino Esposito鈥檚 fifth of the year 2:46 in gave North Shore a 1-0 lead that was cancelled out by a Lukas Needham shorthanded goal five minutes later. Kaelen Rusjan (1G, 2A) and Nolan Ganter scored back-to-back goals as Pacific Coast grabbed their first lead early in the second. Graeson Miller (1G, 1A) replied for North Shore a few minutes later but Collin Lee (2G, 1A) scored twice to open the third and Owen Hyde (1G, 3A) added a power play goal of his own as PCHA held a commanding 6-2 lead late in the game. Rock Oosterveld would score a consolation goal for North Shore with less than five minutes remaining. Logan Maclean (20/23) was in net for the win.听
Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (1) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (6) U17
In a 6-1 win Sunday OHA outshot CDA 56-11. Cole Schellenberg, Jaxson Bartsch (1G, 1A) and Cooper Vogt (1G, 1A) scored three straight for OHA to start the scoring before CDA halted the run with 2:28 left in the period. Rylan Bengert scored the lone first period goal before Gage Kiselbach and Saiva Brar (1G, 1A) scored 1:16 apart in the third to round out the scoring. Alex Youngson (10/11) and Morgan Hyndman (50/56) were in net for their respective teams.听
North Shore Warriors (2) vs Yale Hockey Academy (6) U18 Prep
Eli Barrett (2G, 2A) hit double digit goals just 20 seconds into the game and added his second 52 seconds later as Yale leaped ahead 1:12 in. Shaun Hildebrandt added another Yale goal at the 4:06 mark before Tristan Hoko finally halted the bleed seven minutes later. Jayden Oleskiw (1G, 1A) and Bodie Jerome scored 1:59 apart late in the second as Yale held a 5-1 advantage heading into the final 20. In the third, Vladislav Ibragimov and Ollie Reid traded goals 2:05 apart as Yale took home a 6-2 win. Parker Kulmatycki (28/30) and Georgi Milanov (39/45) were in net for their respective teams.听
Notre Dame (3) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (10) U17 Prep
Zachery Hall (2G, 1A) and Aedan McCarry (2G) each scored twice while defenseman Jacob Balaberda (4A) and forward William Matte (3A) led the way, combining for seven assists as CIHA beat Notre Dame 10-3. Maksim Bedskikh (2G, 1A) played a factor in all three Notre Dame goals, scoring once and setting up Sam Carnegie on the other goal. Braxton Gibson (23/26) and Jessy Cormier (51/61) were in net for their respective teams.听
Coeur d鈥橝lene Hockey Academy (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (10) U15
Delta Black controlled the game from start to finish in a 10-1 win over CDA to close out their weekend. Samuel Hioe (3G) recorded a hat-trick while Zachary Giles (3A), Taegeon Park (1G, 2A), Jesse Parmar (1G, 2A) and Woojin Seo (1G, 2A) had three point games of their own. Riley Hansen was the lone CDA skater to beat Luc Wilson-Kurenoff (28/29).听
Northern Alberta Xtreme (4) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep
Ben Deacon gave NAX the lead just 59 seconds into the game with his ninth of the season. Scott Sandilands tied the game midway through the period but Mason Koponyas scored with 23 seconds remaining in the period to put NAX ahead. After a scoreless second Noah Milford鈥檚 (1G, 1A) 14th of the year 9:02 into the third evened the score at 2-2. The tie was short lived as Harry Matten scored the game winner 37 seconds later and Michael Donovan added an empty netter with 1:04 left to secure the NAX win. Tyler Swanson (18/20) made 18 saves for the win.听
OHA Edmonton (2) vs Edge School (3) U17
Darius Odermatt (1G, 1A) and Charlie Schmitt traded first period goals as the two teams were deadlocked at 1-1 after 20. Evan Lynch (1G, 1A) and Kaiden Turta did the same in the second, scoring 51 seconds apart midway through the period. Rylan Saunders would score in the third for Edge with 4:51 remaining. This time OHA Edmonton would be unable to equalize, sending Edge home with a 3-2 win. Mikai Mast (28/30) and Daniel Marsden (38/41) were in net for their respective teams.听
North Shore Warriors (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (6) Female U18 Prep
Jordana Jones and Rebecca Macfarlane traded power play goals 2:07 apart before Lylah Dietz (1G, 1A) scored an even strength goal for OHA Black 56 seconds later. Raina Chala (1G, 3A) doubled the OHA Black lead 6:26 into the second with her second of the year. Lily Zhoner (1G, 1A) added another North Shore power play goal late in the second to bring her team within one. Christina Terzariol restored the two goal lead 3:40 into the third and Hayden Wild (1G, 3A) and Olivia Davidson each scored in the final minute as OHA Black grabbed a 6-2 victory. Ryann Faulkner (30/32) was in net for OHA Black in the win.听
BWC Academy (5/SO) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) U15
The lone first period goal came from the stick of Mason Liebel (2G, 1A) as OHA held a 1-0 advantage. BWC Academy would control the second as Wyatt Lowther (1G, 1A) tied the game 26 seconds in and Gareth Dykens and Ethan Kartadinata (2G) each scored power play goals. Kartadinata extended the lead 5:22 into the third as it looked as though BWC Academy would cruise to victory. But Jett Wood (1G, 1A) scored midway through the frame and Liebel and Ryson Barker (1G, 1A) scored 47 seconds apart late in the game to tie it and send it to overtime. After OT solved nothing, Ryder Bui scored the lone shootout goal and Jordan Bigelow (37/41) stopped all three OHA shooters as BWC Academy avoided the collapse and skated to a 5-4 win.听
Yale Hockey Academy (12) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3) U15
Defensemen Lukas Bachler (6A) and Lukas Stevens (2G, 4A) paced the Yale offence with six point outings in a 13-3 win to wrap up the weekend. Ben Bury (3G, 1A) recorded a hat-trick while Connor Baines (2G) and Max Ritchey (2G, 2A) each scored twice in the win. Owen Besserer, Dexter Labrecque (1G, 1A) and Oliver Peck (1G, 2A) scored for RHA Kelowna in the loss.听
